PRIMARY Track and Field Awards (Years 3-6)
- Every child should aim to try out and develop on a multi-event based approach. Therefore in the outdoor track & field awards they can aim to seek to achieve a Triathlon or Quadrathlon award at Primary School level. They can also achieve individual award badges
-
In doing so the Aviva Awards ensure all young athletes have a run, jump, and throw experience
- To achieve this the Aviva Elevating Athletics resource can be used to help development event by event
- The Triathlon offers a simple approach whereby a class can select events from each category for the easiest multi-event – one run, one jump and one throw.
-
The Quadrathlon events become fixed but seek to develop early learning:
- Years 3 & 4: 50m sprint, 400m run, Standing Long Jump, Mini Vortex Howler throw/ Small Ball Throw
- Years 5 & 6: 75m sprint, 600m run, Standing Long Jump, Vortex Howler throw/ Small Ball Throw
- Both variants use the 13 step Awards ladder that can be downloaded from the resources section - available to full Aviva UKA Academy members. This ensures that the same scoring tables can be used in the classroom and across different competition formats within the sport.
